Amanda has been in the salon industry for over 20 years. Not only does Amanda specialize in precision haircutting but is stretching her wings into the Business Education side of things. Teaching from a Mindful perspective, Amanda believes in ‘Community over Competition’ Leadership and loves developing not only great stylists but good humans. Lending her time to initiatives within her community to help provide safe and inclusive spaces, Amanda is always finding and supporting local shelters and other Female Owned businesses.

If you have been to The Onyx Salon, you have probably had many conversations with our Salon Manager, Tara. If you have yet to visit us, Tara is the friendly face with hair that changes more than the seasons do (and we love her for it). Tara has been with us since April 2018 and is the backbone of our salon. From answering calls and emails to scheduling, event planning, product knowledge, some truly wicked displays and assisting; there is not much Tara does not do. Outside of the salon, she is an art-lover, covering everything from expression through make up and fashion to cooking and painting. Tara’s love for people and the ins and outs of our business have inspired her to spend time gaining skills and experience within successful business management.

If you have been to The Onyx Salon Collective , you have probably had many conversations with our Salon Coordinator, Peta-Gay. If you have yet to visit us, she is the friendly face and pleasant demeanour (and we love her for it). Peta-Gay has been with us since 2017 and is the backbone of our salon. From answering calls and emails to scheduling, products, and assisting with all the in’s and out’s; there is not much Peta-Gay does not do.

Chloe is one of our resident Davines Visionariers, she attends quarterly training with Davines to share the most up to date trends, sustainable practices and haircare with the salon team.

Chloe’s foundation starting in hair cutting provides a well rounded set of skills cutting all hair types, textures and lengths. She continues to hone her technical skills attending classes multiple times a year in both colour and cut trends. Chloe’s specialties grew to include colour services catering to a large clientele of blondes. As a blonde herself Chloe is knowledgable in the process of lightening hair and creating bright and healthy blondes.

As a professional behind the chair she maintains her genuine, positive disposition with her customer service skills allowing her guests feeling at ease and cared for during and in between their visit to The Onyx Burlington.

Making her mark in the hair industry for almost 20 years, Sheri’s knowledge and passion shine through her work and to your experience in her chair. Highly educated in all services, she has a creative eye and passion for the art of organic haircutting, and working with natural texture. In addition to being behind the chair full time, Sheri also most recently worked as in-salon space specialist for Davines as well as Australian hair care brand EVO. Her educator roll has allowed her to train internationally, keeping her up to date with the latest trends and fashions within the Hair industry.

Stephanie has the eye of an artist and her styling skills are some of the best we’ve ever seen. With over 12 years of experience, Stephanie is known for her stunning bridal updos and speedy efficiency, all while providing the quintessential Onyx Salon experience. Stephanie also trains new staff on braiding and styling techniques. She is inspired by her travels and takes every opportunity to educate herself on the latest techniques and trends. Her devoted clientele can attest that Stephanie’s creativity and contagious enthusiasm make every appointment a delight.

Nicole is a Master Stylist with us here at The Onyx Salon. She has been a hairstylist for the last 10 years, and has such a passion and enthusiasm for the industry she truly couldn’t imagine doing anything other than working within this industry she loves. She is outgoing, knowledgable and driven to take on a challenge. Nicole has been known to specialize in large transformations such as Balayage, Colour Corrections and absolutely loves working on curly hair, to reshape, and give new life and body to natural texture. She enjoys the experience of making her guests look and feel their best and is inspired by the latest trends in the hair and beauty world.

Tamzin is the Onyx’s most longstanding employee since 2016, and has been in the hair industry since 2012. South African born, with a love for travel that has led to living in four different countries. She has had the unique experience of growing up surrounded by different cultures which has given her a very worldly perspective. Tamzin’s specialties consist of blonding, balayage and multi-dimensional brunettes. Outside of her continual education within the industry, Tamzin is completing a degree in Political Science and Psychology at the University of Toronto. As a mental health activist and a natural empath, her clients always leave feeling cared for inside and out.

With Sara’s commitment to education it is no surprise that she is our Davines space specialist here at The Onyx Salon, continuously growing as a stylist over the last 11 years in the hair industry. Behind the chair she specializes in blondes, Balayage and is always eager at the chance to work with creative colours! She loves the opportunity to showcase different techniques within the realm of formal and long hair styling, as well as teaching her clients step by step ways to manage their hair and easily style for everyday looks. Sara’s passion for editorial and bridal photoshoots has allowed her work to be published alongside many other talented artists. As well, Sara has strong ethical beliefs in the role of sustainability in the Hair and Fashion world and is continuously finding new ways to educate her guests and the people she surrounds herself with to help the planet by following suit.

Shae’s passion for hair was evident at an early age, when she would spend recess braiding her friends' hair just as her grandma had done for her. In high school, she would do the hair for all of the talent shows and once she graduated, Shae chose Niagara College because it had the best hairstyling program. Shae’s greatest joy is helping others feel their very best through hair transformations and she has experienced it firsthand as she experiments with different ways to wear her own hair. Shae is excited to continue honing her craft with The Onyx Salon Collective (especially when it can be combined with her love of travel!).

Kate has recently joined The Collective as a Salon Level Stylist and has been in the industry for over 4 years. She is passionate about sustainability, Davines colour and all types of blonding services. Kate’s goal as a hairstylist is to accentuate the natural beauty she sees in each and every one of her clients.

We are excited to welcome Felicia to The Onyx Salon Collective as our Junior Stylist. Her journey in the world of hair began with her completion of a High School Cosmetology Program, followed by the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program, showcasing her dedication and passion for the craft.

Felicia thrives on connecting with clients of all ages, with a special fondness for children. She is currently accepting new clients under the guidance of our experienced stylists.

Whether you prefer an engaging conversation or a serene, quiet experience, Felicia is attentive to each client’s unique energy and space. At present, she is offering Treatments and Styling, so keep an eye out for the expansion of her services in the near future. We are thrilled to have her as part of our sustainably driven team.
